About Me

Hi, I’m Tommy.

I have been drumming for over 10 years and have 4 years of teaching experience. Over the years, I’ve taught hundreds of students in primary and secondary schools across Nottinghamshire, delivering 1-2-1 drum lessons as well as whole-class percussion sessions. Alongside teaching, I’ve also performed in multiple bands throughout my time as a drummer, giving me real-world experience both on stage and in the classroom.

My biggest goal as a teacher is to make a positive impact on every student I teach. Drumming and music completely changed my life, giving me confidence, purpose, and an outlet to express myself.

When I started drumming in Year 9, I was fortunate enough to meet an amazing drum teacher who helped me in countless ways. He inspired me to become a teacher myself, and I now aim to pass that same gift on to as many people as possible by being the best teacher I can be.

I strongly believe that a great teacher can have a massive impact on someone’s life. It certainly did on mine. I strive to create a supportive environment where every student feels encouraged to grow in confidence, enjoy learning, and reach their full potential.

Whether a student wants to play for fun, build confidence, become a serious musician, or work towards exams, my goal is always to help them enjoy the journey and become the best drummer they can be.

(And of course… a little bit of practice between lessons never hurts either!)
